| This mod is very common. It will make your Splitfire shoot
farther and it will allow you to shoot supermaxxes and stefans.
Mega darts seem to work the best in the Splitfire, but I have
not yet PVC modded the gun.

First, you need to get those pesky poles out of the barrels. Use
a pair of needle nose pliers and twist them out. People
on NerfOnline have said
that pulling them out results in the gun not firing. There are
air restrictors in the back of the barrels, as you can see, but
some people on NO say that if these are removed, parts fall out
of the barrel that aren't supposed to. Anyway, I went with
safety. Twist the poles out and you won't have problems.

Open the gun. It's pretty simple, and everything seems to be
glued together. The spring that puts resistance on the trigger
may or may not come flying off. On one of my guns, it did, but
on the other one, it wouldn't come off for the world. Notice
where the trigger mechanism attaches to the case. You'll need to
put this back later.

If you lift the barrel assembly out of the case, you can pull
the plunger all the way out of its tube. This is a pic of the
end of it. See that hole? Plug it up. I used hot glue; epoxy
also works.

OK, this is the tough part. This pic is of the barrels
upside-down. The arrow points to a hole in the barrel that
exists on both sides. You have to plug these up. It's tough to
get your fingers in there. I used duct tape and a screwdriver.

That is the duct tape on the hole. Coming in from the right is
the screwdriver. Use it to smooth the duct tape over.
Additionally, you can put the tape on the screwdriver and
then use the screwdriver to apply it. Just plug those holes up.
Put it all back in the case (refer to the first pic) and put
the screws back in. It now fires more types of darts. Normal
3" stefans don't work very well; they wobble in flight. I
found that 1.5" stefans work well. I have not tried this
gun outside yet, but with 10 pumps, it fires almost 30 feet in a
straight line. It's very accurate with the included mega darts.
I hope to put PVC barrels on this thing soon. With my trusty LnL
dead (it was really never any good) this is a great discovery
for me. A good sidearm that's still in production. I bought two
:). I really like the way it can fire two darts semi-auto. 1vs1
wars are actually pretty fun using these guns.
