| Here is a mod brought to you by Tsuki-yomi. He sent me the
pics and the writeup. I've edited his e-mail very little; most
of this is his writing. Anyway, here's the mod. Enjoy!

The main
problem with the monoblast is the way in which the dart fits into the barrel.
Instead of the air being supplied at the base of the dart its actually
supplied directly *into* the dart. As a result if the dart is pushed a little too far onto the post you can end
up with a useless dart. It also means that there is no way of using a home
made dart.

Here's a quick diagram to show how its supposed to work... the middle post is fatter at the back than at the front.
You can see why, if the dart is pressed too far on it could cause it to pop.

Basically what you do is hack off the barrel just before the ammo holders.
Try to make it as close as possible to them though, don't worry about the
internal post you want that gone.

Once that's done I used a large drill bit to cut that damn post back as far
as I felt was necessary.

Next I got a short (less than an inch) piece of PVC. The stuff I found was
just the right size to give a snug fit around the dart (just under an inch
internal diametre). Make sure you round off what is going to be the front
edge - it will make a LOT easier to fit the dart in.
Before you put the piece of PVC in use some hotmelt glue to fill the gap
around the remains on the middle post - this will make sure that the air
doesn't end up going else where. Fit the PVC into the short piece that is left of the barrel (the closer to
the ammo holder you cut the barrle the more secure this fit will be - it
should stay there by itself. Use more hotmelt glue around it to give as much
of an airtight seal as possible.
Take the section of the barrel you cut off to begin with. There are three
internal ridges in the barrel, cut the ones at the bare end at an angle;
this will make the next step easier.
Fit the original end of the barrel back over the PVC - it should be a tight
fit. Hotmelt glue around it to make sure its secure.
That's it.
I don't know how well it will fire the home made darts as I'm still trying
to find a source for the materials in my area (Western Australia)
I found the right foam... pity its in 60metre lots and costs about AUS$90.
I do know however that it fires both the yellow microdarts and the red
microdarts without any problem.
Tsuki-yomi ----- Looks great! I'm going to have to get one of these :).
Thanks once again to Tsuki-yomi.
