Blastfire Mod
Finally! Better pics for the original Blastfire mod, and pics and info on the PVC mod! I finally got around to modding my other Blastfire last night, and here are the results.

Remove the screws from the green slide ONLY at this time. Once you've done so, take the TOP half of the green slide off. Leave the bottom half on, like I've done in the picture. You'll see why in a minute.

Take the screws off the rest of the gun and lift the top of it off. See that metal bar sticking up from the green slide in this picture and the last one? That bar causes one of the most significant problems people have had modding this gun. The bar holds the orange thing in place, and the orange thing has a spring attached to it that is very hard to put back in place. More on this later. If you need a large, 1024x768 version of this pic to see how everything goes together, click here (opens in a new window).

A closer pic. On close inspection, you can see part of the spring pressed against the upper part of the black plastic on the right side of the orange thing at the top. For a large pic, click here (opens in a new window).

If you grab the orange thing and pull it up off the bar, this spring pops out. The short end of the spring goes inside the orange thing, in a depression that's made for it. The circular part in the middle goes over the metal bar, and the long part loops over and presses against the top of the gun's casing.

Here I've put the orange thing back on, and the short end of the spring is in place. The coil is around the metal bar, too, but I haven't put the long end in place yet.

Here I'm placing the long end of the spring against the upper wall of the casing. After you do that, everything should work OK. This spring seems to cause the most problems anyone has in Blastfire modding.

Now, it's in place.

Now for the classic mod. Take the pump out of its tube. See the hole in the front? Plug it up with hot glue.

Now for PVC...cut off the barrels right where they get small. You should be left with stubs like this. I used the saw on my Swiss Army Knife because it worked OK and it was small enough to cut the barrels while they were in the gun. I wouldn't recommend taking them out of it.

Now use a knife to cut the air restrictors out, like on the powerclip. The top one has been removed, while the bottom one hasn't.

Cut your five PVC barrels from 1/2" sch40 PVC. They should fit very nicely over the stubs of the barrels that were left. But, that screw place/thing whatever you call it is disrupting the barrels and making them crooked. You have to saw it off near the base so it doesn't interfere with the barrels.

Looks good! Now, you just need to glue them on! I used epoxy. I recommend glueing them while they're in the gun, to get them straight, but that might cause the barrels to be glued to the gun's casing, as well. This shouldn't matter--just put some glue on the end and the inside of the barrels and push them on the stubs as far as they'll go.

Congratulations, you've just PVC modded a Blastfire and created a great sidearm that fires five mega stefans semi-auto! Spoon says he gets very nice range using micros, so darts without much weight may work well. Try this gun out--I love it!
